The Hound of the Baskervilles is the third of the four crime novels written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle featuring the famous detective Sherlock Holmes.The novel was serialized in The Strand Magazine and was published in book form in 1902. It was the first Sherlock Holmes tale since the detectives shocking death in the story The Final Problem (1893) but was set prior to his demise. Sir Charles Baskerville is found dead on the wild Dartmouth Moors with the footprints of a giant hound nearby and the murder is blamed on a family curse.
